Welcome to the official website of the Lego® Twp Fire Department!

PROUDLY PROVIDING FIRE SUPPRESSION TO LEGO® TOWNSHIP SINCE 2002

The Lego® Township Fire Department was created on July 1, 2002.  Our mission is to protect the lives and property of the citizen mini-figs and visitor mini-figs to Lego®  Township.  The LTFD protects a year-round population of 60,000, which swells to over 82,500 during the summer months, since we are located on the shores of the Bricklantic Ocean.  We cover an area of approximately 23 square miles and operate out of nine fire stations, utilizing 12 engines, including 3 squad engines, 6 trucks, 3 rescues, and 1 Haz-Mat.  We also provide mutual aid to neighboring communities.

Each fire apparatus rides with 5 firefighters per shift: 1 driver, 1 officer, and 3 firefighters.  There are 4 platoons, with each platoon work a 24-hour on, 72-hour off tour.

The strength of the Lego® Township Fire Department is as follows:

Firefighters 382
Captains 84
9-1-1 Dispatchers 12
Battalion Chiefs 12
Deputy Chiefs 4
Chief of the Department 1
Total Strength 495

The Lego® Township Fire Department is a proud member of the IALFF, Local 233.

The new pumper has been assigned to Engine 4.  The old Engine 4 has been moved to reserve status and will be called Engine 21.     Residents are asked to review the fire alarm box list as some box numbers were reassigned.        The LTFD Fleet Maintenance Division has a new home.  See Department News for details.        A new pumper has been delivered from Pierce.  The pumper is currently at the Fleet Maintenance Shop and is having final touches put on the pumper before being assigned.  Check back to see who gets the pumper.

Thank you to all of you who write and compliment my site and creations.  I've been getting a lot of inquiries as to whether I would be willing to sell any apparatus or stations.  Please do not email and ask.  I have NO intention of selling any of my fire apparatus or stations. So, if you email me and ask if I have any plans of selling anything, I will ignore the email in its entirety or that portion of the email.

The Lego® Township Fire Department is a charter member and an extremely proud member of the Lego® Metro Fire District as Station 56.  Click on the banner below to visit the LMFD.

NEVER FORGET those lost in the attacks of September 11, 2001.  Also, please remember Fire Chief Eric McDonald of the Lego® City Fire Department, who died on August 22, 2002 in a car accident.  Without his inspiration, this site, nor the Lego® Township Fire Department would be in existence as it is today.

Do not be confused!  There is another Lego® Township Fire Department on the pages of Brickshelf and elsewhere on the internet.  That department belongs to a member of the Indianapolis Lego® Users Group.  The Lego® Township Fire Department represented here does have its own Brickshelf account.  You can find our info on Brickshelf if you type "LTFD" in the search field.  There you will find more shots of the Firehouses and Apparatus.

Special thanks go out to the St. Lego® Fire Department and the Lego® City Fire Department, who are the inspirations behind the rebuilding of my Lego® town and apparatus.  In addition, special thanks to the members of the LMFD, especially the New Brickton Fire Department.  Visiting their sites helped give new ideas to the appearance of my fire apparatus.  Throughout the entire LMFD, you'll see a little bit of everybody's ideas within each other's sites.

If you like the site, please tell others.  If not, please feel free to tell me.
